PBWORKS DESIGNER RECIPE

Makes 1 to 2 servings 

  • Three parts Interaction Designer & UX Expert
  • Five parts Graphical Designer, Visual Designer, and Web Designer
  • Two parts Front-end UI
  • One part Backend / PHP programmer

INSTRUCTIONS 

This recipe requires a strong, professional background in design. Three or more years in the web industry is desired before attempting this advanced recipe. 

  1. With a food processor, combine several impressive portfolio pieces – graphical design specimens, product interface designs, and possibly even print design. Blend well.
  2. The Interaction Design & UX Expert ingredient should be backed by a solid background of understanding user-centric design
  3. In a small bowl, prepare the front-end UI component. Hopefully you have a respectful working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript to add to the mix. (A pinch of Flash also works well this recipe, but is not required.)
  4. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Exact ingredients aren’t needed, but its best to have a variety of the above skillsets as well as a strong, proven background in the key areas.
  5. Stir in wireframes, storyboards, low fidelity prototypes, user research & interviews, usability testing, and other best practices.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Stop half way through, and share with customers; get their feedback.  Repeat the process & make it better.
