People out in the field can feel disconnected. PBworks makes them feel a part of a broader campaign.

Stay Organized

PBworks first came to the attention of Ron Paul E-campaign Director Justine Lam when Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales suggested using PBworks for libertarian causes. Today, PBworks is one of the four key tools Lam uses to keep Paul's online groundswell organized, along with the Ron Paul web site, email, and Salesforce.com.

The campaign uses PBworks to:

  • Post instructions and guides
  • Manage office information such as volunteer guidelines, donation forms, and contracts
  • Post issue papers and press releases
  • Manage a media list of press resources, along with who will contact them
  • Post photos and campaign graphics
  • Brainstorm innovative new ideas for the campaign

Intuitive and easy to use

Unlike other collaboration software and portals that she had used in the past, Lam found PBworks intuitive and easy to use--perfect for working with volunteers. "I don't have time to experiment with new software," said Lam. "With PBworks, I could pick it up and begin immediately."

And the collaborative nature of the workspace is perfect for a decentralized campaign. Volunteers have the power to add whatever graphics and papers are needed, rather than being forced to wait for a central office to respond to requests.

Most importantly, PBworks lets the campaign coordinate its thousands of volunteers with a minimum of central staff time.

"PBworks saves us loads of time every day."
